MARIA LEVANTINOU (Υ.Α.Ι. 500Η)

Maria was firstly trained in India at the system of Satyananda Yoga. Her desire for an honest interaction with the body, taking into account the needs of each human being, led her to Italy and straight into the intuitive teaching of Diane Long, direct disciple of Vanda Scaravelli.

Later on her path she met her Yin teacher Biff Mithoefer and completed two trainings in Yin Yoga (Yin Yoga Teacher Training, I. Taoism, Anatomy and Sequencing and II Embracing the Yin Path). Through the practice of Yin Yoga, every man and woman, comes into contact with the qualities of his / her feminine side, trusting and experiencing the stability and security that Mother Earth always offers, a relationship she honors every day.

Her journey continued with the Bahiranga Yoga Therapy Instructor Course (RYT 500) next to Michalis Evangelidis and with him she further trained in Nada Yoga (Yoga of the Sound). With her indian harmonium she travels the world of mantras and kirtan, worshiping with love and devotion through the vibrating melodies of body, voice and heart.

Through her personal apprenticeship with her beloved teachers Angela Farmer and Victor van Kooten, she keeps exploring the free expression of the body always respecting each practicioner’s nature and choices, allowing space for curiosity, play and creativity.

Her contact with Skinner Releasing technique as well as her artistic ( Postgraduate Degree in Dramatic Arts) background enhance the use of poetic images and narratives in her teachings.

In 2009 she met her root teacher Dr. Carlos de León and since then she has been studying and practicing, exploring different spiritual traditions such as Shamanism, Chi kung, Vajrayanna, Hindu Tantra, Dzogchen, Kabbalah, and Body Psychotherapy.

Among her spiritual masters are: HH 17th Gyalwang Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje, Namkai Norbu Rinpoche, Khandro Rinpoche, Swami Shankarananda, Swami Chandrashekhar Nanda Nath. Learning to relax and express with more self-confidence…coming into contact with the body and its potential…developing the ability to concentrate the mind and release unnecessary tensions by experiencing more freedom and joy…is what she loves to do.
